Soul Beach Music Fest ~ Experience ARUBA! |
The 14th Annual Soul Beach Music Festival held in Aruba has been announced for 2014!
Hundreds of music lovers from all over the country, "young'ns" and Soul Music "veterans" alike, flock to the island Memorial Weekend to enjoy Beach Parties by day, R&B Concerts at night, Comedy shows, Island Festivals, delicious Aruban foods, Aruba "Flava" and so much more.
Although many of the larger Resort chains are usually promoted the most, there are many other smaller Hotel options available as well in Aruba. "Boutique" Hotels are defined (by Wikipedia, anyway) as being "Hotels which often contain luxury facilities in varying size, in unique or intimate settings with full service accommodations."
Recently, while attending Aruba ATEX 2013, in addition to inspecting large resorts, I also had the opportunity to visit several of the smaller Hotels and Resorts and would feel very comfortable recommending several to my clients and/or staying there myself.
Note to Large Resort "Snobs": These properties may not be for you. (Please don't be offended by the term "Snob", it is what it is and you like what you love.... no negative judgements here.)
This is not a complete list of what all is available to you in Aruba but these are four that I have personally stayed at and/or inspected:
Brickell Bay Beach Resort: - My Host Hotel during Aruba ATEX 2013. With 98 rooms, this location is great and within walking distance of several other larger Resorts, Restaurants and happenings in town. It is a simply stated and clean property with a staff that was absolutely the best! They are very friendly, courteous and eager to assist which are important customer service qualities that are sometimes lost when staying at larger Resorts. Note: Again, no "Bells and Whistles" here but since travelers come in all shapes, sizes and comfort levels this property works just fine for many as it did for me as well. The location access to other things "fantastic" in Aruba plus the fact that this budget friendly hotel has FREE WiFi makes the Brickell Bay a serious consideration!
Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort: - A Dutch Colonial style, 72-room property with very easy access to the beach located accross the street. This property offers fully equipped Kitchen Studios and 1 and 2 Bedroom Suites. Amsterdam Manor is centrally located, about a 5 min drive to downtown and within walking distance to Aruba's Butterfly Farm and The Bird Sanctuary. Note: Appeared to be a quieter property with room renovations recently completed in 2012. Their 1 and 2 Bedroom Suites with full kitchens that can accommodate up to 6 makes this a great option for families. The "Apartment-style" Studios with kitchenettes are a nice touch for Solo Travelers and Couples as well.
Manchebo Beach Resort: - With 71 Gardenview and Oceanview Rooms on Eagle Beach, great for Solo travelers and Couples. Aruba's famous French Steakhouse is located here along with a few other dining options. Alhambro Casino is within a very short walking distance as are other activities. The "Spa del Sol" with services available in beachside cabanas including massages and body scrubs right on beautiful tranquil Eagle Beach is not to be missed! Note: This property is best for a slower paced, not very much into too much activity traveler, (like MUAH ;-) )! The traveler that prefers someplace quieter to relax and chill while on vacation while also being close enough to engage in actvities should the mood arise will do very well here...I know I certainly did! ;-)
Divi Aruba Phoenix Resort: - Although most would not classify this as a traditional "Boutique" property, the personal charm and intimacy I felt here made The Divi Phoenix one of my favorites to recommend. Here on Palm Beach sits 101 Beachfront Studios and 1 and 2 Bedroom Suites with Fully Equipped Kitchens. Perfect for families, couples or anyone that likes to enjoy a little of their own cooking while on vacation! *Note: I really loved this Resort, especially with it's recent upgrades. Again, Couples with or without kids, especially Seniors that like to have a little feel of "homieness" while on vacation will really enjoy Divi Phoenix.
Whether it be for budget conscious reasons or if you just prefer the intimacy and personalized attention that staying at a Boutique Hotel or smaller Resort can bring.....just remember, you do have many options in Aruba.
TLC Travels' Tours and Cruises, once again has fantastic travel offers available NOW for booking with several of our top Travel Partners but please keep in mind, the best flight schedules and Hotel options usually go to the smart travelers who are "Early Bird" bookers. Once they are gone....it's a "Wrap" and could become very expensive to travel. That old saying; "When you're slow, you blow" definitely applies here so make your Air/Hotel package reservations NOW or as early as possible this year to secure the best rates for Aruba 2014 Soul Beach Music Festival! #PEACE and #Plan2TRAVEL ~ Tina ;-)~
